TheVerge Reviews the Nokia Lumia 925 – The best Windows Phone you can buy right now

Screen Shot 2013-06-14 at 22.54.08The Nokia Lumia 925 just got reviewed by TheVerge. By the looks of it, Nokia’s on the right track once more. 8.1 and highlights such as being ‘lightweight and thin’ something the previous 920 was scolded for (as heavy and bulky).

  • The only thing holding back the 925 is that MS needs to work faster on Windows Phone…it’s good but progress seems slow.
  • Only 16GB option is on the bad stuff side, but you can get it in a 32GB variant.
  • Great Nokia hardware. MS has to catchup (8/10 at the moment for software, but Nokia added goodies help)
  • Ecosystem gets a 6 now. 920′s ecosystem points only got a 5.

Lumiapps: UpToDate Medical Reference app available for Nokia Lumia

UpToDate is the recommended medical reference site that my base hospital uses for their ‘evidence based medicine’. We were told it would be coming soon to WP, and now it’s here.

Whilst the app is free, I believe access requires paid login (our hospital has a subscription to it but only accessible on site).

Lumiappdates: Extras+Info, Vimeo, Day Counter and Hungry Now

  • Day Counter seems to be getting quite some updates recently. This latest one seems to fix the bugs  encountered in the switch up to the new UI.
  • Hungry Now adds some more restaurant and sharing buttons (still mainly US based).
  • Vimeo v2.1 gets voice search (from the app. This should really be system wide).
  • Extras & Info – more under the hood improvements.

I like this a lot. This is a music video of Koobra ft Joanna for the song, Something Real and it’s shot entirely on the Nokia Lumia 925.

More than your eyes can see. It was the Nokia Lumia 925 slogan during launch.

EOS v2 metal

It would appear that someone has gotten their hands on what seems like the Nokia Eos but in an aluminium body. The images come from ictech, a user on Weibo. Its not the first time we have seen leaks of devices come from the Chinese social network (doubt it will be the last either).

Unlike what we have seen of the Nokia Eos thus far, the lens actually shows a megapixel count, and yes. IT SAYS 41MP!!!!!
