Lumiapps: Splashtop 2 comes Free to download for Windows Phone through August (Remote Desktop) Posted: 23 May 2013 11:17 AM PDT How cool is this? Splashtop 2 is free to download for Windows Phone 8 . Splashtop allows you to access your desktop from your mobile device. It’ll replicate what’s on the screen whether you’re home or thousands of miles away. I haven’t used it since my TouchPad updated and splashtop stopped working. It was fun for some practical uses (making my PC convert video whilst I was in Uni) and practical jokes (phantom computer ghosts) It seems the pricing has changed from a one off price plan to monthly ($1.99 which is free ‘through August’) http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/store/app/splashtop-2/7422bd18-219e-4d20-af5e-126045a238b8 PC remote is also a really good alternative. It has a desktop mirror function though the frames per second wasn’t as fast as splashtop. Let’s see what Splashtop 2 is like in comparison

Some ‘more’ information have sprouted regarding the EOS (or at least version 1 of it. From the last post based on the reader conversations they mention something dsmobile said about there possibly being two devices. EOS 1 and real EOS later in the year? :/) http://mynokiablog.com/2013/05/18/rumours-nokia-eos-808920-hybrid/ Anyway, the news is that it’s being launched on July 9th.  An engineering miracle with how Nokia managed to fit such a huge sensor in a relatively slim shell – possibly thinner than the 920 due to the way the edges have tapered. The bulge protrudes but not enough so as the design is able to mask it. At no point are we said to be able to feel the bulk. Lumiappdates: Microsoft keeps YouTube app, updates it – Refocus also updated Posted: 23 May 2013 12:41 AM PDT Though they were asked to remove their YouTube app for breaking Google’s terms and conditions, it seems Microsoft are going to keep the app by possibly updating it to follow YouTube’s rules. I don’t think the download option is there anymore (not that I used it at the time to recall where it would be). Regarding the missing ad playback, I believe that’s more to do with getting access to YouTube’s API which google has not provided MS. The Refocus app has also been updated. 1.0.50 Fixes a crash on devices that did not support camera flash fixed a crash that happened when opening from previously unsaved images (I think it was nice of the app to point out what got updated when you opened it)
